Mark A Lawrence, Founder/Managing Principal
When looking to start Inncuvate Mark was looking to start a professional services firm and venture studio that does one thing, provide opportunities to those that normally don't have the access or on-ramps. He identified the need to provide a suite of advisory services to help people tactically move past the great idea in order to build companies with interesting intellectual property. Mark possesses over 17 years “Big 4 firm” experience in management and technology consulting serving both the pubic and private sector. Prior to that he spent four years in the engineering and operations department for two global telecommunications services providers during the advent and adoption of the Internet. He has built a professional career helping to drive understanding of the business and technology linkage in order to maximize value and deliver innovative products.
Mark recently served as a Senior Manager in the Federal Technology Consulting practice at Deloitte Consulting LLP where he led consulting teams and directly provided advisory services to CIOs and CTOs on technology assessment, strategy, budgeting, implementation, solution design, systems development, systems operations, and security challenges. Prior to that he served as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton where he managed and guided large system implementation project teams in addition to medium and small strategic consulting teams. At Cable & Wireless USA, Mark was responsible for planning, and engineering telecommunications transmission networks. Mark started his professional career at MCI Communications Inc. (now part of Verizon) provisioning and operating large telecommunications switched transmission networks.
Mark has a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from Temple University and a cross-disciplinary MS in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland College Park. Mark is an entrepreneur who is currently part owner in a couple of stealth mode startups. He is passionate about the enabling power of technology to create new industries and leveraging his business consulting experience to help build the next generation of innovative companies.
Chike Aguh, Principal
Chike Aguh (Chee-Kay Ah-Goo) currently serves as a Principal at Inncuvate. Chike most recently served as CEO of EveryoneOn, a national social enterprise, that has connected over 500,000 low-income Americans in 48 states to affordable internet, computers and digital skills. As the son of immigrants from Nigeria whose lives were changed by America’s opportunities, Chike has spent his career ensuring that all Americans have access to the same. Previously, he worked as an education policy official under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a 2nd grade teacher and Teach For America corps member, a Fulbright Scholar in Thailand, and a Director of Corporate Strategy at the Advisory Board Company. Chike has also worked with the Massachusetts Secretary of Education, US Department of Education, McKinsey & Company, and the federal government's Performance Improvement Council.
Chike holds degrees from Tufts University (B.A.), the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Ed.M), the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (MPA), and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (MBA). Chike lives in Beltsville, MD with his wife, Crystal and son, Kelechi. They are members of Zion Church in Landover, MD.
Susan Caldwell, Creative and Digital Marketing Director
Susan helps Inncuvate clients build digital brands that dominate. Susan has more than 15 years of professional experience as a creative consultant and producer in various roles. She has created and contributed to all manner of marketing materials, business documents, and creative projects for such companies as the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine, Alexandria (VA) City Public Schools, Dolce & Gabbana, and Baccarat.
Susan is a expert writer, editor and designer focused on building innovative digital marketing ideas and initiatives. She is skilled in crafting high-quality publications and campaigns that cater to both broad and specific audiences. She collaborates with clients to provide high-level expertise in all matters concerning content creation and social media marketing. She has a strong understanding of the digital marketing landscape and abreast of new technology/software, trends, and best practices.
Susan holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a master of professional writing degree from the University of Southern California. She enjoys helping ambitious brands build and transform their business through the power of the internet.
Philip Reeves, Collaborator Technology Scouting and Commercialization
Philip is a proven leader who possesses close to 10 years of professional experience. He has provided advisory services for numerous growth oriented firms, from nascent startups to Fortune 500 businesses.
Phillip is the founder of the management consulting firm Mercantile Strategies. Philip brings to Inncuvate his specialties in SBIR/STTR, Government Contracting, Business Development, Strategy and Relationship Management. Prior to starting Mercantile Strategies Philip served as the Manager of Small Business Technology and Innovation for the Government of the District of Columbia. In his role, Philip established the District’s first program focused on providing full life-cycle technical assistance and mentoring to over 160 small businesses and startups pursuing federal R&D funding. He also supported city-wide technology initiatives and was appointed to the District’s Innovation and Technology Inclusion Council.
Prior to working in the public sector Philip worked in corporate development for a small government contractor, where he was responsible for M&A, strategic partnerships and business development. Philip began his career in private equity at Lehman Brothers.
Philip is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. Philip’s work and writings have been featured in MarketWatch, Government CIO Magazine and several local tech blogs. He is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers DC Hub and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s DC Region E-Council.
Michael Bing, Advisor, Economic Development and Government Contractor Solutions
Michael built a exceptional career providing technical assistance supporting small business growth. He possesses over 11 years of experience as a economic development and entrepreneurial professional in private and tax-exempt sectors.
Prior to becoming an advisor to Inncuvate he served as the Director of the Washington, DC Minority Business Center (DC MBC) within the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. Michael led a team that provided technical assistance to ethnically Minority Small and Medium Enterprises in the Washington metropolitan area and a number of states within the region. Prior to that he was the Director of The Enterprise Center Capital Corporation (TEC-CC), a 501(c)(3) certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Community Development Entity (CDE) and U.S. Small Business Administration Micro Loan Intermediary. Michael managed the loan fund and administered all internal financial services, loan packaging, financial capacity assessments, and technical assistance for TEC-CC. Preceding TEC-CC, he served as the Business Development Manager for The Enterprise Center's Pennsylvania Minority Business Enterprise Center (PAMBEC) a federally-funded program of the Minority Business Development Agency U.S. Department of Commerce. Here, Michael focused on recruiting high-growth minority companies as clients to provide access to contracts and capital.
Michael attended Chestnut Hill College and is a U.S. Department of Treasury New Market Tax Credit reviewer, and a certified instructor of NFTE and the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac. Michael is passionate about helping people achieve their dreams through entrepreneurial pursuits.
